Free Meek is true-crime docuseries based on the Philadaphiea rapper Meek Mill and his ongoing battle with the U.S. justice system. This ongoing battle with the system is as a result of a disputed conviction stemming all the way from 2007.
The five part series was produced by his record label and with the help of Jay Z and the Roc Nation.
The series documents how Meek Mill has repeadtely had encounters with the prison system based on questionable violations of his parole by an alleged biased judge who continually displayed discriminative behaviour.
Episode 1: This episode shows the violent encounter with the law department at the age of 19 years old.
Episode 2: Meek Mill is sentenced to 10 years of probation, this is the beginning of a trap he cannot escape. As his Career is exploding constant violations see him visiting the courtroom again and again.
Episode 3: This episode sees Meek Mill sent back to prison by the same judge for popping a wheelie. He was sent back to prison for 2-4 years which ignited tensions about the racial injustice he had been experiencing, followed by protesters taking to the streets to seek answers about this injustice.
Episode 4: It is revealed the version of events which led to Meek Mills original arrest pan out not to be true, which gives meek and his supporters a fresh sense of hope.
Episode 5: The judge is left to decide Meek’s fate once again, even though all prosecuters agree his case should be overturned, this does not turn out to be the case.
You can watch this full docuseries on Amazon Prime which further documents the constant battle Meek Mill faced at the epitome of his career. With such a bright future ahead why did this biased judge continue to penalise him, instead of giving him a chance to focus on his career? This series demonstrates no other reason for the constant penalisations other than blatant discrimination.
