For escapism and to imagine life on the other side, channel 5’s ‘Rich House, Poor House’ is an informative stark view on the lives and differences of the top 10 per cent earners and bottom 10 per cent earners living in Britain. The show is a reality show, which makes it easy to follow and great for escapism - however, it’s emphasis on showing the stark nature of Britain’s wealth divide gives a sobering reflectivity to audiences. By the end of each episode, the wealthier family always feel compelled to share their access and resources to aid the lower income family through education, scholarships, or some form of monetary gift. A casual watch for INCEO, but important to highlight the growing wealth divide and bring attention to the inequalities this creates.
