2 Pac - Changes ft Talent

Songwriter/s: Tupac Shakur, Deon Evans & Bruce Hornsby

Tupac Shakur's (stage name 2Pac) "Greatest Hits" album was released in 1998, two years after he was shot by unknown occupants in a Cadillac while driving at the age of 25. His death stunned the globe because he was regarded as one of the "best rappers of all time." 2Pac's music addressed racial concerns as well as current social issues in impoverished areas of cities, and he was seen as an activist at the time.

"Changes" is a tune dedicated to discussing the police's treatment of black people at the time, racism in America, and the aspiration for both white and black people to live in peace and love. "Is life worth living?" is one of the song's most memorable phrases. Should I scream at myself? / I'm weary of being poor and, worse, black," as well as "but we'll never go far unless we share." Tupac samples the piano and chorus from Bruce Hornsby and the Range's song "The Way It Is," as well as phrases from his earlier tune "I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto."Talent, who appears in the song, re-sings the chorus of "The Way It Is." Ultimately, the song encourages and pushes for change.
